Azerai will open its second property in Can Tho, the fourth largest city in Vietnam in December 2017. Azerai opened its first property in the UNESCO heritage site of Luang Prabang, Laos earlier this year.
Located on Au Islet, and set in the Hau River, Azerai covers an area of over eight hectares with 60 rooms. The design is inspired by traditional architecture and achieved through a contemporary interpretation. Facilities and services include a wide range of fitness enhancing opportunities as well as a comprehensive spa, junior zone, restaurants, lounge and bar, boutique, and an arrival pavilion and pier to assist boat transfers to the hotel.
The accommodation is housed in 30 two-room structures, embracing the use of local materials for today’s modern comforts. Interiors are light and neutral in tone. Each room is approximately 35 square metres, offering a range of views to the river, lake or the surrounding gardens and trees. All rooms provide a spacious bathroom area and a combined bed and sitting area, in addition to an outdoor terrace with loungers.
Breakfast offers a range of unique Vietnamese breakfast items, together with a continental
buffet featuring a selection of breads, buns, pastries, cold cuts and cereals, yoghurts and seasonal fruits. An a-la-carte menu offers hot dishes and daily specials such as noodles and congees, eggs and sausages and other sides.
Lunch is a selection of regional Vietnamese dishes, together with salads and sandwiches, and a variety of light and tasty desserts, along with coffee, tea and herbal infusions.
Dinner in the evening is a casual Tapas-style menu on platters, encouraging family and friends to enjoy a social dining experience. The wine list offers a range of old and new world wines.
Set under a canopy of banyan trees, the Grill is open for dinner only. Specialty grilled choices
include crustaceans, fish, beef, and poultry served with seasonal salads, garden fresh organic
vegetables and sauces.
Lounge and Bar
Open all day, the Lounge is the place to relax and enjoy small bites between meal times. Afternoon tea, is a selection of sweet and savoury options accompanied by tea and coffee, juices and soft drinks. The Bar offers a range of pre-dinner aperitifs, cocktails, beers, international wines, liqueurs, mocktails, and fresh juices.
The Spa is nestled beneath the shaded canopy of banyan trees alongside the islet’s canal. Six air-conditioned treatment rooms and two treatment suites, with private bathrooms, offer privacy and seclusion.
A highlight is venturing out on an early morning boat along the Hau River to witness the local fishermen and plantation farmers trade their catch and crops at the Cai Rang floating markets.
Other excursions, include morning and afternoon biking tours leaving Can Tho City and heading out into the rural riverside, and plantation areas to visit traditional rice noodle factories and cocoa farms. Town tours offer visitors an opportunity to see Quang Duc Pagoda, Can Tho Museum and Ong Temple. In the evening stroll through the street markets which offer various, home-made local food delicacies.
