We usually release a ‘hottest hotel openings’ list early in the year covering the incredible openings to come, but given Covid-19 interruptions and the tumultous 2020, it’s understandable that many hotels that were scheduled to open were delayed (some indefinitely). Separately, lots of hotels have also undergone changes – whether it’s extensive renovations, or rebranding with another management company. So for 2021, to wrap up the year, we decided to focus on 8 incredible (newly opened) hotels that did celebrate an actual opening to wrap up the year:

Set in the south side of the compound of the historic La Samaritaine building which hosts Paris’ largest shopping mall and department store, Cheval Blanc and the LVMH hotel group finally returns home (after a delayed opening) to Paris in the hottest hotel opening of 2021.
One&Only Portonovi, Montenegro

One&Only’s debut in Europe was delayed, but the property finally opened its doors in May 2021 to welcome the rush of summer guests to Monenegro, in turn becoming one of the hottest spots in the Adriatic Riviera.
